STRATTON, Vermont – He is regarded as the father of the modern golf swing and his Golf Academy at Stratton Golf University is expected to be a hit for the second straight year. Now, there’s an opportunity to get up close and personal with David Leadbetter, without needing a PGA Tour card to do so.
Stratton Mountain Resort and Stratton Golf University invite you to join Leadbetter and our team of talented golf professionals for the first annual Stratton Golf Festival on June 26 and 27. Come enjoy two days of instruction, clinics and course time at a price that will make bargain hunters hit the greens with envy.
The festival celebrates the rich tradition and history of one of the premier golf schools in the country. Golf University was founded by PGA legend Arnold Palmer, who would conduct similar clinics back in the 1970’s.
“Arnold Palmer … David Leadbetter … throughout these years of change there has been one commonality at Stratton, encouraging juniors and all players to have fun, learn, enjoy the game and keep practicing,” said Robin Rasch, Director of the Stratton Golf University and LPGA Teaching Professional.
“This history has led to the creation of this festival, a celebration of golf at Stratton. To showcase our resort facilities and to once again establish the tradition of excellence with the presence of a world-renowned instructor such as David Leadbetter.”
The schedule of events is as follows.
Saturday June 26
10:00-12:00 – Come join David Leadbetter for a 90 minute clinic at the Stratton Golf School where you’ll be able to meet the professor, get autographs and photos and learn about the game of golf.
12:00-4:00 – Try out the latest in golf technology with a Taylormade Demo Day, or take your best shot at our Skills Challenge with the winner receiving a Half-Day Tune-Up at Golf University. And also be sure to check out the Open House at Stratton’s critically acclaimed Golf University, for first class golf instruction all summer long.
2:00-4:00 – Golf U Clinic: Fitness, Mental Preparedness, Pitch and Bunker Play. ($50 per person)
Sunday, June 27
10:00-12:00 – Golf U Clinic: Full Swing, Putting and Chipping ($50 per person)
Afternoon – Showtime! After a weekend of golf instruction, it’s time to put your new tricks to the test in an 18 hole Scramble on Stratton’s pristine championship course. ($59 per person)
