Billy Casper Golf, owner and operator of more than 125 golf courses, country clubs and resorts including two properties in the Coachella Valley, will host the “World’s Largest Golf Outing” to benefit Wounded Warrior Project on Aug. 18.
The simultaneous golf outing at more than 80 BCG courses in 24 states – to enter the Guinness Book of World Records – is open to golfers of all abilities and does not require a USGA handicap.
Local courses involved in the outing are Cathedral Canyon Golf Club in Cathedral City and Shadow Hills Golf Club in Indio. Other Southern California courses in the event are Ashwood Golf Course in Apple Valley, Brea Creek Golf Course in Brea, Green Tree Golf Course in Victorville and Yucaipa Valley Golf Club in Yucaipa.
Registration is at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. at most courses. Entry fees vary by location and include greens and cart fee, range balls, lunch, awards reception, on-course contests and prizes. BCG projects more than 5,000 golfers will participate nationwide, shattering the current world record.
A portion of proceeds benefits Wounded Warrior Project, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Wounded veterans will also play golf at select outings.
