STRATTON MOUNTAIN, VT – The early burst of warm weather brought sunny skies and ‘Spring’ skiing and riding conditions to Stratton, but it also meant great things for golfers as well. Thanks to Mother Nature’s glow, Stratton’s 27-hole championship golf course will open early in 2010, a rare feat for an elevated mountain course, with the first tee times slated for Monday morning.
“Mother Nature has been kind to the Stratton Mountain Country Club,” Head Golf Professional Tony Lake said. “She minimized damage to the course during the winter months and has provided favorable weather that has produce above average ‘spring like’ conditions for New England.”

Your favorite ski resort has had a long tradition as a hotbed for summer golf. Designed by Geoffrey Cornish, Stratton was a six-time stop on the LPGA Tour and its renowned golf school was founded by the legendary Arnold Palmer. In 2010, Stratton is pleased to welcome the David Leadbetter Golf Academy back for a second season and the swing guru himself will hold a free public clinic at the first Stratton Golf Festival on June 27.
Three different layouts (Mountain, Lake and Forest) will challenge golfers of all abilities, with picturesque views of Southern Vermont’s highest peak. The fifth hole of the Mountain course is the longest Par 5 in Vermont at 621 yards from the blue tees. And Stratton is the only public access course in the state with more than 18 holes
Those looking to get out and play all summer long will want to grab a Stratton Green Card before June 18, to save up to 30 percent on each round all season long. The $59 card also includes a free round of golf, a price that pays for itself.
