Every year TopTenRealEstateDeals.com Top Ten team ranks the Top 10 Most Luxurious Golf Homes that are available for sale. 2009's list included some truly spectacular homes with a Bridgehampton North home taking the top spot. And in kind, this year's homes are nothing short of magnificent.
As everyone gears up for the media frenzy centered around the return to golf of Tiger Woods at The Masters in Augusta, we thought it would be a fitting time to showcase the most luxurious homes for sale located within uniquely magnificent US golf communities. These homes were judged on basic criteria such as, but not limited to: vicinity to golf course, stature of golf course, total 'wow' factor, luxury amenities, interior design, sq. footage, and geographical location. Also considered was the question of whether we would want to call each property 'home.'
One of the biggest changes we made when considering homes for this year's list was to place a heavier emphasis on the more modern styling aspects of the available golf homes. The recent technological advances which encompass modern luxury homes offer a discerning buyer a level of luxury "fung shui" never before experienced.
While the modern aspects of the home were given significant weight in our rankings calculations, sometimes one just can't ignore the sheer 'wow factor' of a home perched above the 18th tee box in Hawaii with lush tropical landscaping, a 58 acre Neo-Classical Georgia Southern Estate, or a stunning almost 20,000 square foot home nestled in the Arizona hillside.
Kicking off the list is PGA Golfer Jim Furyk's Hawaii home. This home has made the list for the second straight year. This stunning home is located on the Ben Crenshaw designed Plantation Course. Few ocean views are as breathtaking as the one from the huge outdoor covered barbeque and entertainment area set to a backdrop of the peacefully volcanic Hawaiian islands.
Another returning home is last year's number #1 golf home which has been driven from the top spot allowing the new king of the green to 'play through.' This 60 acre Hampton estate is a vision of traditional luxury. There isn't much that tops having a private PGA rated 18 hole Rees Jones course in one's backyard where one sets their own tee time.
Notable newcomers to the list include a private French inspired estate in Newport Coast, California located on the Pelican Golf Course, an exquisite Teton Pines Resort home located on the 18th fairway, and a glass contemporary Hilton Head home with 270° panoramic ocean views on the 15th green of the Ocean Golf Course.
